Your crypto, your control
Connect MetaMask, Phantom or another DeFi wallet and top up only what you need. Your crypto stays in your wallet until you transfer it to the card, and Vield cannot access your wallet without your authorisation.
Spend anywhere Mastercard prepaid cards are accepted
Use it online, in app, on subscriptions and in person by adding the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. USDC is deducted from your card balance, converted at the USDC/AUD market rate, and the transaction completes in the merchant currency.
No exchange token to buy
Unlike many crypto cards, the Vield card does not require you to buy or hold an exchange-specific token or coin. You load USDC and you spend USDC. There is no load fee, no purchase transaction fee, no monthly fee and no inactivity fee. You do need a small amount of MATIC in your wallet to cover Polygon network gas on each transfer.
What is a non-custodial crypto debit card?
A custodial card sits on top of a wallet that a third party holds and manages for you. A non-custodial card does not. Your crypto stays in a Web3 wallet you control, you keep your own private keys, and nothing moves until you choose to load the card. Value you do load sits in a smart contract account operated by the card issuer, Immersve, and is drawn down as you spend.
The Vield card is also a stablecoin card, funded with USDC rather than a volatile asset. USDC is intended to hold a one-to-one peg with the US dollar, which makes spending easier to plan than it would be against a volatile cryptocurrency. The peg is not guaranteed, and because the balance is held in USDC, its Australian dollar value still moves with the AUD/USD rate.

*Fees, limits and supported networks are subject to change. The 1.5% currency conversion fee applies to any transaction processed in a currency other than US dollars, which includes every transaction processed in Australian dollars. Network gas fees are paid in MATIC to your wallet provider, not to Vield. Annual limits also apply. The full schedule of fees, limits and risks is set out in the Product Disclosure Statement.

"Bitcoin represents more than just a digital asset. It’s a pathway to generational wealth for our families. Our mission at Vield is to build the financial tools that allow people to access liquidity without ever needing to sell their Bitcoin."
Non-custodial vs custodial
Both kinds of card work at the same merchants. The difference is who holds your crypto before you spend it, and what that costs you in control.
| Feature | Vield, non-custodial | Custodial cards |
|---|---|---|
| Who holds your crypto | Your funds stay in the Web3 wallet you control until you choose to top up the card. Vield cannot access your wallet without your authorisation. | A third-party service provider, such as an exchange or a card provider, holds and manages your crypto on your behalf. |
| Private keys | You keep them. Your wallet stays yours and Vield cannot move funds out of it without your authorisation. Value you load onto the card sits in a smart contract account operated by Immersve until you spend it. | The provider holds them, so you rely on it to secure your funds and you carry the risk if it fails. |
| Exchange tokens | None. You do not need to purchase or hold an exchange-specific token or coin before you can spend. | Many crypto cards on the market require users to buy or hold the provider’s own token, which adds steps and cost. |
| What you spend | USDC, a stablecoin intended to hold a one-to-one peg with the US dollar, converted at the USDC/AUD market rate at the point of sale. | Often a volatile cryptocurrency, so the purchasing power of the card moves with the market. |
| Fees | No load fee and no purchase transaction fee. A 1.5% currency conversion fee applies to transactions processed in a currency other than US dollars, which includes Australian dollar transactions. No monthly or inactivity fees. Network gas is paid in MATIC to your own wallet provider. | Fees for conversion, withdrawal or maintenance vary by provider and can add up over time. |
| Who carries the responsibility | You do, for the security of your wallet and private keys. That is the trade-off for keeping control, and it is why we suggest topping up only what you need. | The provider does, for the funds it holds. That is reassuring for some users and a single point of failure for others. |
Built for crypto natives
Your wallet, not ours
Your crypto stays in your DeFi wallet until you transfer it to the card. You decide when to top up and how much, and Vield cannot access your wallet without your authorisation.
Where you can spend it
Online purchases, in-app purchases, subscription services and digital wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Some merchants do not accept prepaid cards, which is at their discretion.
No exchange token required
There is no provider token to buy in order to use the card. You will need a small amount of MATIC in your wallet to cover Polygon network gas each time you transfer.
Funded in stablecoin
USDC is intended to hold a one-to-one peg with the US dollar, so your balance is not exposed to crypto price swings the way a volatile asset would be. The peg is not guaranteed, and the Australian dollar value still moves with the AUD/USD rate.
Suspend it from the app
If your device is lost or stolen, or you spot a transaction you did not make, report it from the Card tab and the card is suspended while a specialist investigates.
