Vield was founded in 2022 by finance and payments operators who were also long-term Bitcoin holders. They had the problem themselves. Traditional lenders had been slow to treat digital assets as legitimate security, which left holders with one option when they needed liquidity: sell, and trigger a capital gains event on an asset they intended to keep.
So we built the alternative, and we built it inside the rules. Vield lends as a Credit Representative under an Australian Credit Licence. Collateral sits with an institutional custodian in a segregated wallet you can watch on-chain. It is never rehypothecated, never lent out, never staked, and never pooled with anyone else's. Our loan book is funded by private credit rather than DeFi, which is what lets us hold those standards.
That machinery turned out to be worth more than our own loan book. Exchanges and fintechs came asking whether they could lend on it, so today Vield does two things: we lend to Australians, and we are the lending infrastructure behind platforms that want to offer the same product under their own brand.
