Loan Collateral
Vield currently accepts the following cryptocurrencies as collateral for loans:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
These assets must be genuine BTC or ETH tokens—wrapped versions or synthetic derivatives are not accepted.
Why Only BTC and ETH?
We accept highly liquid cryptocurrencies that have:
- Established market stability
- Deep liquidity on global exchanges
- Transparent blockchain tracking
- Wide institutional acceptance
This ensures we can accurately value your collateral and manage risk effectively.
Vield Card Top-Ups
For the Vield Non-Custodial Mastercard, we currently accept:
- USDC on the Polygon network
You'll need MATIC in your wallet to cover gas fees when topping up your card.
Depositing Your Crypto
Once your account is verified:
- Navigate to the loan application section
- You'll receive a unique wallet address for your collateral
- Transfer BTC or ETH from your personal wallet to this address
- Your deposit will be confirmed on the blockchain
- Your collateral value will be calculated and displayed in the app
Important: We recommend that customers do a test transaction first with a small amount to see it flow through. Followed by sending the full amount or in batches. Always double-check the wallet address before transferring. Vield is not responsible for transfers sent to incorrect addresses.
Tracking Your Assets
Every Vield customer has a unique wallet address. You can:
- View your wallet address in the Vield app
- Track your assets on the blockchain using any block explorer
- Verify that your crypto remains in your dedicated wallet
